About this qualification
This qualification aims to provide an understanding of the different types of diabetes and how they can occur. Develop awareness of how the onset of Type 2 diabetes can be delayed with lifestyle changes. To provide understanding of diabetes diagnosis and initial care, on-going care and treatment of diabetes to control blood sugar levels.

The objective
The objectives of this qualification are to give learners working, or intending to work, in healthcare and social care knowledge and understanding of diabetes to support their role in the workplace. Enable learners to progress to other qualifications in this subject area, or within the wider area of health and social care.


What are the entry requirements?
Due to funding eligibility, all candidates must be over the age of 19 and have lived in the UK or EU for 3+ years.
Guided learning hours?
The guided learning hours for this qualification are around 105 hours.
How is it delivered?
This course is delivered via the method ‘distance learning’ which means you can choose when and where you study. You will be required to complete a paper based workbook or online. Feedback will then be provided to you and you will be informed if you have passed or required to re-submit work.
